Annual letter to the Bahá’í World: 2025 Riḍván Message
Each year in late April, Bahá’ís and their friends throughout the Eugene/Springfield area join others around the world in gatherings large and small to read the annual message from the international governing body of the Bahá’ís. This message is released during the Riḍván Festival, which commemorates the 1863 announcement by Bahá’u’llah—founder of the Bahá’í Faith—of His station and mission. The message outlines the progress of the Bahá’í Faith over the previous year and offers guidance for the coming year.
Highlights from the 2025 Riḍván message:
- Striking breakthroughs have occurred in the capacity to work with many souls at once, advances often made possible by experienced individuals who have moved to areas both domestic and abroad.
- Community-based initiatives of social action in fields such as education, agriculture, health, the environment, the empowerment of women, and the arts are growing in many neighborhoods.
- Instances of civic leaders and individuals with responsibility for children’s education or social development are seeking to collaborate with Bahá’ís in the search for practical solutions; and the Bahá’í approach to some important discourses is attracting interest in national and international circles.
- This vast, global process of learning that is as effective in the highlands of Bolivia as in the suburbs of Sydney is enabling the fulfilment of high aspirations shared by formerly disparate people who now “ceaselessly strive for the betterment of the lives of one another”
- This process is wholly reliant on the invigorating potency of the Word of God—that “unifying force”, “the mover of souls and the binder and regulator in the world of humanity”—and on the sustained action it inspires.
